Terri discovered she was not government employee material after a five year stint as a federal investigator with the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).  Though she learned a lot and has a lot of juicy stories to share, she decided to take a dip into the Fortune 200 Human Resource Management waters in roles defending the company against the EEOC and OFCCP, developing affirmative action plans, manpower planning (including merger and acquisition work where she was not so affectionately referred to as the severance Queen), performance management and training/development.  After figuring out that she wasn’t corporate material (who knew being a straight shooter wasn’t a good thing?) she settled into a consulting career where people pay her for being a straight shooter and even pay her when they don’t take her sage advice.

The HR Consultant was established in 1998, and has a number of amazing clients all over the United States. Terri serves as the Managing Partner and has a number of associates working with her.  The consulting practice focuses primarily in the area of Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action: AAP strategy, plan development and  OFCCP audit support; expert witness testimony in EEO/AAP cases; third-party discrimination and harassment investigations.  Terri often lectures and speaks about discrimination, harassment and other compliance issues and has been quoted in publications such as “More” magazine.  The company philosophy of keeping the human in human resources guides how we operate – we are also known to keep the humor in human resources as well!

On a personal level, Terri’s passion is volunteering with Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s Dallas affiliate, where she is a member of the Board of Directors…and reminds everyone “Your Mammo is Your Best Ammo” – make sure you and/or the women in your life get them annually.
